Ok you all have been very helpful with your insight and suggestions. So far I have tested an Kioti, LS, and a kabota. Today I took a test drive on a Ferguson Massey today and I really liked the ride.

Salesman stated that their radiator and engine were installed to face away from the front of the cab to keep debris from being sucked into it which makes for longer life than all other sub-compact tractors.

Is that true?

The Ferguson Massey seemed to have more creature comforts than the others manufacturers which is pretty tempting for me to pull the trigger on it. But for some strange reason I keep wanting to go back to the kabota. I have driven the B2650 however I am going to another dealer who has the L3301 in stock.

Why is this so hard????

Its Massey ferguson . Never heard of that, doesnt seem like it would cool very well.

I'm sure it's true that they flipped the engine and radiator around. I don't know how they can claim it will make it "last longer".

It still has to be serviced and maintained. You'll still have to blow out the radiator screens after mowing to get the chaff out. That stuff flies everywhere when you're cutting grass. And they would have had to put a big enough cooling fan in front of that radiator to draw air in sufficiently to cool it. So as they draw the air in, they'll be pulling chaff and dust with it. And if the radiator is right in front of the dash, you're going to get that extra heat in the operators area. A good thing to have in cold country in the winter time, but probably not a good thing to have in more southern warm-hot areas of the country.

I'd look over the radiator area pretty closely, to make sure that they gave you access space to get to everything properly.

I had to look. It is true on the GC1700 series. The fan blows away from the operator to keep heat off they say. Here is a video that shows and talks about it a few minutes in.

What did you think of the Yanmar?

Kubota BX tractors are the same way, the radiator is down by your knees and and the fane pulls air by your knees aNd blows it forward. I owned a BX and it sounds good but was actually worse. There was a gap below the radiator that allowed grass in when mowing.

The I tested the Yanmar 324 because that was the only model available on the lot.

What are your thoughts/experience with Yanmar?

I tried out the YT 235 really a great tractor with all the controls at your
finger tips. Example the arm rest is adjustable so your hand fits right
on the joy stick for the bucket loader I liked it so I ordered the YT235C. Every time I cut grass about 5 acres I come in covered with dust and wife don't like that. I also ordered the cab and backhoe and bucket, tiller and brush hog. We have 8 acres and I need to remove a lot of cactus as the neighbors just let the cactus grow on their property and it spreads over onto our property. Have about 3 acres to clear of cactus, mesquite and cedar nothing over 20 feet high. I should be getting my unit in about 4 weeks.
Yanmar made tractors for John Deere for over 20 years and over 75
different tractors have Yanmar diesel engines. Yanmar makes the
whole tractor. 2 year bumper to bumper warranty and 10 year on the
drive train. If you get a chance do drive the YT235 its more comfortable than our car and with the power steering you can steer
with your little finger. I have a bad back and I hit some big bumps
and no pain seat is really nice. Like I say if you get the chance do
try the YT235 if you are looking for a 35 hp tractor.

i have been around my farm for 11 years. I started with a cheap 1965 Ford 3000. I needed a 4WD due to hills. I bought a Kubota L4600 with front end loader. $25,000. Only problem I have had is with the cheap ass micro switches. I have friend and people I have talked to with other tractors and ALL wished they had bought Kubotas. Too many problems. One caught on fire. One had two transmissions replaced. One had a year old Mahindra that had been in the shop 3 times. His 10 year old Kubota had never seen a mechanic. My brother in law owns a 40 year old Kubota that just continues to run.
