Stopped into Lowes tonight

I'm sure that was the reasoning behind "bringing back" the brand, and I agree that many of us old timers associate it with being a quality brand but how does that translate to younger generations? Does it have a good image in their eyes? After all, it's not 70 year old guys who are buying a lot of tools anymore.

True. It was exclusively a Sears product and not so sure younger generations even know about Sears since they have been closing stores and the internet is taking more and more from the brick and mortar stores. I'm sure Stanley thought of that when they bought the name.

Went to the local Lowes on Friday which was my first visit in months. I had noticed them rolling out Craftsman months ago but it was really in your face on my Friday visit. The Kobolt brands were still there but they had been moved off the main aisle and you had to search for them. Craftsman tools were on the main aisle going through the tool department AND the main aisle going into the store. You could not miss the Craftsman tools if you tried. I gave up on Craftsman years ago when Sears started to go under AND because there was no local Sears. Lowes was local and the Kobalt tools were better than my Craftsman tools so I started buying Kobolt. I hope Lowes does not get rid of Kobalt.

Later,
Dan

I saw an article headline about low moral at Lowes. I thought wow, not at my local store. I walked in caked w/ dirt , torn up- could've just walked off the rail as far as anyone knew. Couldn't of been friendlier.

I hope not as well. I知 pretty happy with the Kobalt stuff I have.

Strolling the tool aisles yesterday I picked up at least 20 different Craftsman tools to read the packaging. A very wide variety too, from several aisles, and a wide range of prices. 100% of them were made in China. Disappointing to say the least.

I noticed the same here, and I winced when I realized Craftsman would use their name on these junk tools. I gave up on Craftsman years ago after so many years of buying tools when they were very good quality. No longer. I値l stick with Bosch and Makita.
