To make some room in the garage I decided to store the mower deck on its side. It's a 60 inch Kubota deck for a BX2660. I noticed today that it looks like oil is dripping out of it (slowly only a couple of drips over a month). I'm assuming it's gearbox oil. Would the gearbox leak if the mower deck is tilted on its side?

Yup There is always a breather on gearboxes and they leak if turned over or on the side.

Someone on here mentioned that the input shaft seal wasn't made to have oil pressing against it full time and would eventually leak if the deck was stored so that the input shaft was pointing down. This year I stored mine with the shaft pointing up and that also puts the vent on the upper side so maybe I killed 2 birds with one stone.

Not always. My front differential on my Deere 4100 wasn't vented until I vented it.

That link showed what I'm seeing. Thanks. I do need to get an axle shaft though instead of putting all that pressure on the gauge wheels.
