What a week, Wed June 17th I had to take my 8 month old to the ER due to a temp spike of 102.7 degrees, I finally got home at around 10:30 PM, then at 4 AM we got hit by "strong winds" that took out several trees and one of my out building. Good news the house only lost 3 pieses of siding and NO ONE was hurt. We just got power back on after a few days without it, good thing is I have a backup gen and was able to stay home and keep the AC on. The temps got into the 90's with high humidity after the storm. Right now my little one is playing on the floor and she is fine, will be putting my tractor with fel to work this weekend for sure! If they load here are some pics of my place.

I'd say "strong winds" was an understatement. That's quite a bit if damage, almost looks like a tornado went through.

Glad to here that your little one is okay, kind of puts things in perspective. I'll bet that barn don't mean much when you look down and see him/her playing on the floor.

Glad no one was hurt:)

Glad t hear your daughter is doing better.

Sorry to see your barn lying on it's side. I think it's one of those catch 22's. Sad that it's fallen over, but good to have it done with and out of the way. My guess is that it was just a matter of time for that to happen, and now that it has, you can move forward. Nobody was hurt, so there is a bright side.

Thanks for the pics,
Eddie

Thanks for the reply, and yes in perspective I'm the luckiest man in the world, because as I sit here typing this, my little one is on my lap, she is doing great. WE have started the clean up and the insurance adjuster is comming Wed. I'm really glad I have a seperate insurance rider just on my out buildings, it will come in handy. Here are some clean up pics. Once I finish here I'll be heading to the neighbors place. We have a few weeks of cleaning around the neighborhood still left., I drove around the other day and counted 6 barns including mine that were down, all within about 4 miles. I stopped counting the electric poles and didn't even start on the trees. No one lost a house, but several were damaged.

Sorry to hear about all the damage you have, and I'm glad that your young daughter is doing better.

That was a bad looking storm, and think God that you all didn't get hurt....I'm glad that you all made it out OK during that.

We don't get much tornado's here in Eastern Kentucky because of the mountains, but last week there was three reported in other counties, and one was close to the county that we live in.... They said the winds on the one close to us was 90-mph & that it was a EF-1 tornado.

They say that people get hurt during the cleanup....So please stay safe:)

Careful doing that as most insurance polices do not protect you when you are off your own land.

Thanks for the concern, but regardless of insurance it is the right thing to do. If i get hurt and their insurance will not cover anything, I'll turn it over to my health care, if they don;t cover it, then I will. No insurance agent will stop me from helping the community. I do appriciate the words of caution though.

The bad thing my friend, all the barns are structually sound. Minus some paint, which we have been doing, the wood was all in good to great shape. All the outbuildings were being used. I even had a lumber dealor tell me he wanted the barn siding off this building a few years back and I refused to take it down, due to the good shape it was in, I wonder if he may still be interested now:rolleyes: You are correct though, time to move on.

2*No insurance agent will stop me from helping the community.
1*Your getting injured is not the only or greatest risk.
What about property damage to others and physical damage to them?
Also what about damage to your tractor and equip.?
2*Are you still going to feel the same way when the guy you tried to hepl sues you and takes you for everything you have?
Why not just get proper ins. coverage?
