I went to move the tractor and when I turned the key ON the right turn signal arrow on the dash and the right yellow hazard light on the ROPS came ON. Just ON, not flashing.
First I checked the turnsignal switch, it was OFF. Then I tried the right turn signal. Only the right taillight flashed. The right dash arrow and right yellow ROPS lights should have been flashing too. I then checked all other lights. Everything worked except the hazard lights. Only the left dash arrow and left yellow ROPS light flashed. The right dash arrow and yellow ROPS light remained ON.
With the key OFF all lights worked as they should. I could not check the turn signals since they are not powered with the key OFF.
With the key turned counter clockwise from OFF, JD calls this ON without engine running, all lights worked correctly, but turnsignals are not powered in this postion either.
I then decided to (with key ON), remove and replace fuses, one at a time to see what circuit(s) were powering the right dash arrow and right yellow ROPS light. Three fuses caused the lights to go out:
F101-20amp main switch (BAT) I expected that.
F102-30amp power supply for electronics This may be it.
F117-30amp 3 terminal socket, socket strip, 7 terminal socket. My tractor has the 3 & 7 terminal sockets, but no socket strip. Thinking either of these may have shorted, with the fuse back in, I unplugged each from the harness with no change, lights stayed ON. So I plugged them back in to the harness.
Next I decided to (with key ON), pull relays, one at a time. Two caused the lights to go out:
K101-Relay power supply to electronics Electronics may be it.
K102-Relay 3 terminal socket, power outlet strip, 7 terminal socket
Now I am thinking there might be some bad insulation and some wire shorting to each other. I looked over what wiring is exposed and took off the right console side panel and do not see any evidense of damaged wires.
Running out of ideas, the only thing I did not do was try the right turn signal with each fuse or Relay out. So my plan is to again (with key ON) remove these three fuses and two relays, one at a time and try the right turn signal.
I turn the key back ON and now the right dash arrow and right yellow ROPS light are NOT ON.
I am guessing while the key was OFF and I was looking for bad wires, broken insulation, something in the electronics reset.
If this happens again, I'll disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes and reconnect it and see if that solves the problem.
One thing I did not find was a flasher for the turn signals or hazard lights. I think it must be embedded in the electronics.
Anyone else had electrical gremlins?
