O.K. I'll help you get this started./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
When I was in college, I borrowed my buddies '63 T-Bird to take on a date in order to impress the young lady I was going to spend the evening with. Bear in mind that this car was my buddies one true love./w3tcompact/icons/love.gif I'd better take care of it!!
After a movie, we were driving around trying to decide what we wanted to do. Yeah, yeah - I knew what I wanted to do, I just needed to convince her that she wanted to do the same thing!/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif
Anyway, I had driven down a very secluded two lane road when something to my left caught my eye, and at about the same time we felt a Thunk alongside the left rear quarter panel. I thought - Oh Great, some animal ran into the side of my buddies car! I stopped and we got out to check the car and to see if the animal had been killed. When we got to the back of the car, there was no animal to be seen, but on the side of the car there was the distinct impression of a handprint. It looked like someone had put their hand on the side of the car as it drove by them.
My "companion" asked if I had hit someone. I said that I didn't think so, but I couldn't tell what I had seen out of the corner of my eye. As we stood there trying to figure out what happened, I was looking all over the area for any sign of anybody. I happened to glance up a hill, and I could plainly see a man standing alongside a tree about 50 yards away. I asked the young lady if she could see him and she said yes, she could. I yelled up at the man to see if he was alright. He didn't respond - he just stood there./w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif
I knew my buddy always kept a good flashlight in his trunk, so I opened the trunk and pulled it out. I looked back up the hill, and the man hadn't moved. I turned on the flashlight and aimed it at the man, and when the beam of light hit the tree, there was no man standing there!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif But as soon as I moved the light beam off of him, we could see him again!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I moved the beam of light back and forth two or three more times, and each time the man was standing there when the light was not on him, but he was not standing there when the light was on him!/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif I asked my date if she was seeing this too, and she said that she was. She asked me what I thought was going on, and I said that I didn't know and I didn't want to find out. We jumped in the car and took off!
The next day, my buddy called me to see how my date had gone (I had just dropped off his car left the night before without seeing him). I said fine but didn't add anything else. My date and I had agreed we were not going to mention the incident to anyone. He said that was good, but he did want to ask me about his car. Oh, Oh!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I asked what he meant, was there something wrong? He said no, but he was just wondering about the funny hand print on the left rear quarter panel!? I said that I didn't know anything about a hand print. He accepted that and hung up.
Personal Note: I know this sounds like a story, and I'm sure if someone told it to me, I'd be saying - Yeah, right! And that's O.K. if you do. Sometimes I'm not sure if I really believe it. But I know it happened to me and my date. And when we occassionally see each other at various activities, we still talk about - between ourselves!
