So I haven't been using the tractor much lately because there hasn't been grass to cut over the past month and a half. I have only been using it to do some gravel shuffling as I am building a pole barn for all my junk/toys.

Recently, I have noticed that the throttle on the tractor will not allow me to set the RPMs lower then 1.5k and sometimes only as low as 1.8k, which is even stranger because it varies. Typically, before this started happening it would idle as low as 900-1.1k (can't really remember exactly).

Something I have always noticed with the throttle ever since it was new is that if I push the lever all the way up (lowest throttle) and slowly begin to bring it down (more throttle) it takes about 20-30% of the way (to full throttle) before I get any engine response. It seems that with the addition of the first symptom I mentioned, this symptom has become more noticable.

Tractor is about 8 months old and has 130hrs on it.

Looking for any guidance here. Thanks, Jake

Your hand throttle cable is probably sticking. You can easily fix it if you wish not to wait on a Dealer service call. Open the hood, remove the right side panel. You will see where both your hand & foot throttle cables come to meet on the throttle control. Give the goldish lever a push towards the front of the motor with both throttle controls in the idle position, it will probably move forward a touch. If it does your hand throttle is sticking. Just squirt a little WD-40 or PB Blaster in the top side of the hand control in the steering column and work the throttle lever and the engine side back and forth to push it through. It probably took me longer to type this than it will to fix it.

Yeah worked great... had to pull off one cover by the steering collumn which gave me access to the throttle cable by the hand lever... I used some WD and it loosened the cable right up.

Thanks!
