Our dogs recently had sarcoptic mange which is treated with oral ivermectin liquid. The treatment takes three weeks before the symptoms disappear.

I don't know what sig mange is, sarcoptic mange is highly contagious. Probably not much help with your problem, but we had to be patient too.

We had a couple dogs with mange several years ago. Tried almost everything to get rid of it. Ran across an article in a magazine saying to give the dogs brewers yeast tablets like you can get at Wal-Mart or a pharmacy. It wasn't long until the mange was gone and their hair was shiney an thick. It was a real surprise that it worked. Another thing, after giving them down the throat and rub a couple of times we would just drop the pills, they would grab them. That was a shock too.

We got a lab mix from the shelter with mange, the vet confirmed that it will go away once his imune system builds up. He has a beautiful coat now - when we got him, he looked like a gray rat.

What did your vet say? IMG_0021.jpg

you can go to a farm store and buy sulfur treated mange shampoo.

you could also mix in some lice shampoo and or just add some permethrin emulsion mix to it as well.

in the old days we'd mix up some turpentine in soap.. or use the old coal-tar soaps..... and I've known a few people to use motor oil.. though i wouldn't.

I have treated a few dogs with sulfur and burnt motor oil, nasty to do but it works. Just mix in app. 1/4 cup sulfur in a pint of oil and paint it on.

Ditto what Ed said, used motor oil. Got a mutt from the neighbor a while back to keep as a four-legged alarm around the place. She wanders freely about the place and subsequently got the mange at about 3 years old. Tried a few "official" treatments to no avail then I dug around and found that many of the guys who run hounds use used motor oil. I applied it once a day for just a few days and the skin immediately began to look better. I would hang around and scratch her chin so that she wouldn't lick it off until it had a chance to sit for a few minutes. Within a month or so she was covered with new hair. She's an arthritic old lady now at 14.
