Can someone point me to a chart that tells the strength of steel channel in various sizes. I am going to build a couple loading ramps for a trailer and would like to know how much weight a 6 foot length of 1.5 X 3/16 channel will hold.

Thanks
Bob

I would recommend three inch channel with 2 X 2 X 1/4 angle welded as rungs with the V pointed down.

Thanks for the quick response but I am not going to be loading a car or tractor, Just atv's and maybe a golf cart. The web must have some sort of chart but google has not been able to come up with anything except advertizements.

Bob,
Look in the machinery's handbook. Strength of materials and different shapes. You can search on line too and get some hits.
