I have a ford/ new holland 555c backhoe with ford controls on it. the swing and crowd controls dont seem to disengage all the way when i let go of the controls. I have to manually return the valves to neutral. It may be a linkage problem or it may be in the valve block. the linkage seems pretty tight but its hard to tell, the controls dont seem to stick until the machine has warmed up quite a bit... any suggestions? new o-rings ? rebuild valve block? linkage? any help would be greatly appreciated! oh yeah, my dad is looking for an enclosed cab for his 1989 ford 555b model backhoe, please let me know if there is one out there!

The first thing I would try is to remove the detent caps from the bottom of the valve and see if the detent spring is broken or rusted up. Let me know what you find.
Partspring has the original New Holland parts for that 555C.
