When I cut my grass field there is a thin strip that doesn't get cut on each round. Seems to be where the tire runs over the grass. Have I damaged my blades cutting thick brush. I'm overlapping - should I cut slower?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I'm having a tough time visualizing what you mean... can you post a picture or two?

If you only have < 30 hours on your cutter... you haven't had time to wear the paint off... let alone damage the blades... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Just for a test... go slower and exaggerate your overlap to say 1 ft... with field grass a foot high or higher...

If you're trying to cut "grass" that's only a few inches high and looking to use your MX cutter like a "finish mower"... it won't happen that easily...

Before I speculate anymore /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, Post a few pictures so we have a clearer picture of exactly what's happening... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

One other thing to try is mowing going the opposite direction (if mowing counterclockwise try clockwise).
I had a John Deere 513 cutter the did the same thing, I reversed my mowing direction and the strip got cut.
It did mention that in the cutters owners manual and had something to do with the direction of blade rotation.

Thanks for the tip - reversed my direction to clockwise and leaving a strip is no longer a problem.

Tried to post a picture but files too large.

Your welcome !
I'm just glad to see that at least 1 of my tips actually worked /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
