I've been looking at the sub compacts. It looks that the Masseys 1700 series have huge end knuckles at the outer hub for each front wheel. Does anyone know why? JD, Kubota, Kioti, TYM, etc. all look much smaller. I can't find any info so far to explain this.

Maybe those same parts are used in larger tractor models also?

When driving one with FEL full of gravel I would be more concerned if the knuckles were really small.

I think you are looking at a portal axle it is larger because it has reduction gearing in it.
