Attached a pointed strong tip a subsoiler to use as an icebreaker.

I'm on a gravel driveway. I shovel off the snow, but enough gets down & stays in the stone. Two times in the last week it rained during the day and then got down to the teens at night. I had places where there was 2" thick glazed ice.

The subsoiler was slow, but worked great. I hooked it up backward as it was easier to see the progress & the wheels got better traction.

EDIT - added pictures...

Smart thinkin'

Similarly, my paved driveway got a coating of 1" of ice. I used my FEL to get under it and shatter it. It looked like a bunch of windows had been busted in my drive when I was done.

...Cannot get pictures to post - will try again later.
Most likely you'll have to reduce the file size, people with dial up would appreciate it too  Make sure you don't have the photo open in another program. Looking forward to them ;)
