Anyone ordered a subsoiler lately, that might have a suggestion of who to buy from? The problem up here in the northwest has been shipping. I can get one from a place like northern tool, but the shipping costs more then the sub soiler. Thanks for any suggestions.

I take it there are no farm supply or Ag equipment stores in the vicinity?

I bought a used subsoiler a few months back. It's an "FS" brand. I looked all about the internet with no luck finding who or where it came from. Bottom line though, it's VERY well built. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to anyone. How to get one to your door without breaking the budget on the shipping? No answer for that one.

I would think any GOOD farm equipment dealer should be able to get you one.

Yeah, there are places like JD and Kubota, but prices are pretty high. I haven't found one of the import places locally that carry that particular implement. I'll eventually break down and find one locally and pay the price, but I was just hoping for someone with that secret place they could tell me about...the one that sells inexpensively and ships for free. :D

I bought mine from Stevens Tractor. Shippings not free, but reasonable if I remember correctly.

Stevens Tractor Co, LLC

thanks. That seemed to work out great. The shipping was only $18.00, which is a small fraction of what northern tool wanted.

I bought a Howse subsoiler about a month ago to use with my 28 hp Kubota. The Chinese angle iron was painted nice and bright red, but after a single use with my ultra high power tractor the paint has all flaked off. Because the fine grade Chinese angle iron is bending. The shank is okay, just the angle iron the 3 pt attachment parts are made of. I thought since the Howse factory is only 80 miles away it would be worth having some of their attachments, however, I was very wrong.

I thought you might be on to something there when I first saw the F(arm)S(tar) name, but their subsoilers are totally different than the one I dragged home. Mine is a carbon copy of the Fred Cain model single shank subsoiler and Fred Cain is common at a lot of the dealers in the area where I bought mine. In any event, The replaceable point on the Fred Cain unit is exactly like mine and that is what I was after, a spare. (If I have spare parts on hand I never need them, but woe is me when I don't)
