sucker rod grabber

I saw one of these years ago perhaps as a diagram. I well casing is 2" steel and I need to raise the sucker rod about 8 to 12 inches to see if the threads on the joint are history. The pics online these days are so small an 8 year old couldn't decipher them. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I don't know the top dimension of the coupling but it's a bit over an inch probably. The hole takes a 5/8s bolt.

Make one up using a thin metal washer that just fits over the rod. Drill a hole in it as far out from the center as much as possible and attach a very strong line or cable through this hole.

The idea is to have the thin washer dig into the sucker rod and the lift line offset to get you the best leverage. By any means replace the couplings. They are standard 5/8" couplers available even on eBay.

Yes they make thread chasers for the couplings, there's one for sale now on eBay but its for a 3/4 coupling.

I can see how that might work but to get it over the coupling it would have to be a pretty large washer. But it seems very doable. I could use any kind of material for the washer part if I can't get the right size. I know the coupling is over an inch in diameter as much 1.5 inchs maybe . There isn't a lot of room around the perimeter between the coupling and the 2" well casing. And there is 320 feet of sucker rod. I only have to raise it 6 to 10 inches. Thank you very much. That got me thinking in a good direction. Even If I had some good quality guy wire or thin cable a couple half hitches below the coupling would do the trick NO?
