sudden loss of power

I have a Case DX25e (New Holland TC twin) w/ 1.3L diesel. I got it out after 2 or 3 weeks of sitting idle and refueled it. Ran for about an hour no problems then stumbled and stalled. Almost like running out of fuel. Took the fuel bowl off and emptied and cleaned it. Put a little fuel dryer in the tank and started it back up. Ran fine for another 30 minutes and then started losing power and running rough. disengaged the deck and nursed it through the rough running and it started running fine again. Finished up and parked it.

Got back on it today and it did fine for a while then I noticed it would power down when mowing heavy grass or turning uphill. Shortly afterwards it started stumbling again.

Thoughts?:
1. Water or trash in fuel
2. clogged fuel filter
3. weak battery (it's getting slow to crank)
4. pump issue

Any help would be great!

When mine acted similarly, there was trash in the fuel line coming out of the tank.

It would run for a while, and then die as if starved for fuel, and after sitting a while, would crank back up.

There was a screen filter inside the tank that was plugged up.

I drained all the fuel and "filtered" it through some rags, cleaned the screen, and since I had it apart, changed all the filters.

It's run perfectly ever since

more than likely its a fuel restriction issue in the tank, lines or filter. other possibilities include an extremely clogged air filter not letting the engine breath, or a clogged vent in the fuel tank cap. If the engine smokes way more than normal would indicate a rich fuel mixture resulting from lack of air and a plugged filler cap vent would create a vacuum in the fuel tank thus starving the engine for fuel. The cap is easy to test by simply loosening in enough to allow air into the tank around the cap threads.
