I had issues with 2 safety switches in my old jd870. The seat switch was replaced 2 times. My DK45 doesnt have a seat switch as its a cab tractor and wasnt required. I love not having one in seat. I can manually press hst peddles while standing outside cab while installing implements. Makes hookups easy.

Yes, thank god it's nothing major. I know its a safety thing, but it would be nice to clearly know how to bypass all the switches for situations like these. Even if on a temporary basis for troubleshooting etc. Let us take responsibility. I asked the mechanic to show me, but he declined due to obvious liabilities. The same I'm sure holds for tractor forums. Not unlike showing people how to delete their dpf's...:punch:

Here's a $13 starter switch clip it on the solenoid climb back on an crank it up,
12 Volt Remote Starter Switch
I'd prefer this $23 one, I think this is were I got mine,
Performance Tool Heavy-Duty Remote Starter Switches W8586 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

With one of these switches to bypass all the interlocks and knowing how to mechanically over ride your engine stop solenoid you can get your tractor going if it's just inter locks and safety switches keeping it from starting.

I don't have any practical experience with tractors and/or wiring. I googled and found on OTT and there was reference to a guy using a remote starter on his 2650 wanting it for remote winter starting but no tutorials per say. I googled vehicle ignition basics but not sure if the kubotas do something different I should be aware of.

So you're saying there's one mechanism that controls the engine from starting that you're referring to as an "engine stop solenoid." All of the "interlocks" or "safety switches" are hooked up to this solenoid. If I hook up this remote starter switch to the solenoid I can temporarily get started by pushing a button without permanently defeating the switches and get it on my trailer so I can get it to the dealer. That would be great.

Where's the engine stop solenoid located, what does it look like, and where do I hook up them alligator clips? One to each side of the solenoid? I googled photos of solenoids and they all look different.

Let's see if I can explain this;
2002-pontiac-grand-am-fuse-box-location-1995-diagram-removal-block-and-schematic-diagrams-o-wiri.jpg
A remote start switch would clip on too the large upper post in the picture the battery +,
the other connection would clip on too the smaller connector on the right.
When connected, with a good battery and connections, good solenoid, and good starter when the remote starter button is pushed the engine will crank.
This is doing the same thing as when people "jump a starter" with a screwdriver.
The engine crank and if possible start, as you have bypassed all the safety interlocks, so it needs to be used carefully.

As far as the stop solenoid You have to know how your tractor works, does it energize to open the fuel stop and run,
or is it one of the ones that energizes a solenoid to shut off the fuel and stop the engine.
Once that is known the options to bypass that begin.
If it is energize to run can it be over ridden and pulled into the run mode and held with a bungee cord or similar method.
If it's energize to stop and is getting a stop command when you don't desire it can it be disconnected. If disconnected can you physically over ride it to shutdown when needed.

All of this is dependent on the individual being competent to work on their own electrical system with out issues.
Also on the fuel solenoids this would involve being comfortable with and conscious enough to reach in next to a running engine and getting there hands in close proximity to moving engine parts that can and will grab ahold of unwary individuals and remove bits and pieces.

So there can be two steps involved, one using a switch to bypass safetys and get your engine to crank, and #two if necessary bypassing your engine stop solenoid.

Suggest the OP purchase an inexpensive volt meter and watch a few videos on how to test s switch with a meter.

This way they can positively verify if the switch is operating correctly. If ok move on to the next switch.

It would also be helpful to purchase a WSM so they can reference the electrical schematic and which circuits are in play during startup.
