I have an L3010 that I couldn't pass up because the price was right that I want to use for rototilling about a 1/2 acre of garden and maybe some neighbors. I figure 60" will clear the wheels nicely. Not the most gentle guy in the world so it should be rugged. Also, is it better to have one off center or directly behind the wheels? Any suggestions? I'm tired of bouncing around with the Troy Built.
Suggestions for a rototiller for a 30-HP Kubota?

Spanky, perhaps it's just personal preference, but I much prefer a tiller that's slightly wider than the outside of the rear wheels on the tractor and use it centered. Of course, offset does work and reasonably well. I had a tiller that was just perfect for my B7100 and when I traded up to the B2710, I had to offset it to cover my right track only. That wasn't the ideal setup, in my mind, but it beat paying what it would have cost to trade up to a bigger tiller.

Welcome to TBN! I agree with Bird. A "centered" tiller would be more manuverable in "tight" areas especially if the tiller is slightly wider than the tire width. As to tillers I suggest you peruse the numerous entries here in TBN before you buy. There are a lot of very good tillers in the market. Jay

Tough tiller.
Just keep the slip clutch maintained - loosen it and quick slip it if it has sat for 2 weeks or more. Otherwise it's a no-slip clutch and the forces are transfered to more expensive places. This is for all slip clutches.

I have used my brother's King Kutter 60" tiller and although it is really too big for my machine, it did a great job. Works excellent with his NH TC30 though.
It's hard to beat the King Kutter gear drive units in both price and reliability. I have a 48" and it has been a winner. I could have gone with the 60" with no problem but I got a deal on the 48". They are available at Tractor Supply, also check out their website for more retail outlets.
