Anyone have any recommendations on a grapple for a 1755m tractor? I was thinking size wise a 60 inch to keep the weight down. Also either a 3rd function or a diverter valve and what make/model have others used? I was thinking diverter to be able to feather instead of it slamming open or closed that I heard. Does this tractor have a power beyond port anyone know? Any info help is appreciated. Thanks.

There are, basically, two types of grapple - rock/root or brush. Rock/root has shorter, heavier tines - brush has longer, slender tines. Likewise, you can power the grapple with 3rd function or diverter valve. 3rd function will be more expensive.

I have a 3rd function( WR Long ) and very HD rock/root grapple( Land Pride SGC1560 @ 820# ).

I choose this because I knew what I would be doing with the grapple and did not need something with long tines. Even with this heavy duty grapple I'm still able to lift up to 3000# in the way I operate.

BTW - operating my grapple with the 3rd function valve DOES NOT necessarily cause the grapple to slam open or shut. The upper lid can easily be controlled and does not have to "slam" when opened or closed. Like any other implement - experience in operation will result in smooth operations.

For specifics on your tractor - look to your Operator Manual. View attachment 679543

If you’re looking for a grapple you have to consider a Everything Attachments grapple. They make certainly the best you can buy. They make both types and they will outlast your tractor. Don’t buy a grapple before you have considered the EA.

A grapple can be a great implement. Its use can bring on problems. A stick, stob, branch, etc can easily by-pass your unmodified grill guard. Consider making mods to your OEM grill guard to reduce this problem.

I had the local welding shop do this and I know it saved me more than a couple times. View attachment 679774 Google - "grill guard" - to see many more designs. Your imagination is the only limit to any design.

I have a 2850M with a land pride sgc1072 with a MF one button diverter valve system piped in on the front of the loader, similar sized tractor to yours. It weighs in at 450lbs and is very rugged, land pride grapple in built with high strength steel where others may not, check specs. I love it. I also as previous poster made a grill guard to protect the front end but remember nothing is full proof I found if I only move forward in a shorter motion I知 less likely to have debris close in on the front of my tractor still acquiring a full load. I too found a sgc1572 on Craigslist but I thought the extra 400 lbs would definitely effect the working capabilities of the grapple and went with the 1072 instead.

MF 2850m with Land Pride SGC1072 and fabricated grill guard made from thin diamond plate steel. Brush sticks branches etc. have to go around to contact grill although there still a threat, so far so good

Thanks all for the replies. I highly agree on the Grill Guard suggestion after having to learn the hard way years back on a Branson I had. Need to install a guard on my 1755m. You said 450lbs for a sgc1072 which sounds good to me so as to not lose too much lifting capacity. I was thinking about a 60". I'm also leaning towards a Diverter valve vs a 3rd function due to cost, easier install and the ability to feather it open/close. Any opinions on a Summit Diverter value? Thanks again & Merry Christmas all!
