It was a good time to make a sun shade canopy for the newly purchased used tractor recently.
Because I needed to protect the skin from the strong ultraviolet rays in the Northern California Sacramento Valley in very hot summer season.
Also, pre-made sunshade from the market did not fit on my compact tractor well and it was very expensive that I couldn't afford it.
Hopefully, this video help to someone who needs to make it DIY.
Thank you for watching

A lot of guys are using golf cart canopy's they usually
cost about $20 to $25 dollars and very easy to attach
to rops on a tractor! And a lot less work to install one.

Hope you don't ever plan on trading it in for a new one because unless you sell it privately, drilling holes on a ROPS is a huge no and no dealer will take it on trade without replacing the ROPS. That is the law. Even if you sell it private and the new owner had a roll issue and gets hurt. they can come back on you personally if the ROPS fails. Keep that in mind.

I agree Mrsig. Welcome to TBN jkk04. That is a very nice light sun shade you made. It should serve you well. Great video too !

Edit: Just noticed you aren't new - just quiet I guess.

Yes, there are liability issues out there with ROPS. U-bolts and brackets do a nice job without drilling the ROPS. Thus,
looking at the vid, one can DIY with that in mind.

Nice.

BTW, a canopy can also be made for less using PVC tubing. And it's removable due to no fasteners being needed to place on or off. ;)

Should strength be needed, then galvanized pipe and PVC couplers work too.

Thank you for the tip.
I am really not concerned about the liability on the ROP because the tractor will be the last one in my life ^^..

I made this one with a wood frame and a canvas from an old tent camper. It took me about an hour to build from stuff I had laying around my shop. It weighs about 40 pounds and is easy to put on and take off. I also drilled (2) 3/8" holes thru the top of the rops, but I don't ever plan on selling the tractor. The side steel angle brackets attach to pre existing holes in the rops fold hinge.

The problem with the factory ones is that they take too long to put on and off and/or are too small to block much sun.
