I have a friend that just bought a 2182 with the Kubota gas engine. After a few weeks the steering did not work properly. He could not turn left, but if he turned right first, then it would go to the left. It would continue to turn both ways for a short time, then he would have to turn to the right again before it would go left. The hydraulic lift on the mower also seems to have a problem. When he lifts the mower it drops a half inch or so before the mower comes up. Otherwise it works OK. Ne he notices that the ground speed, both forward and reverse is not as fast as it should be. He has an older 1972 to compare it to, and the ground speed on the 2182 is noticeably slower.
Would the relief valves in the pump have anything to do with this?
