This is an esoteric post JFYI. Due to the flood of junk from China it is now possible to purchase high power spotlights generally using the H3 55W and 100W bulbs and even the H4 bulbs with sealed lead acid gell cell batteries powering them. Candlepower ranges from 500,000 to over 10,000,000 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. Now how they measure all that and the accuracy of the claims is questionable but these lights do throw a strong beam. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The best part is that my growing collection in the pic, all were under 20 dollars and some as cheap as 5 dollars, the big one was a credit from a catalog company and was nearly 60--ouch! Why do I need so many lights?, cuz they are cheap and excellent for running off deer, black helicopters and what have you. I often carry one in the car or tractor. They pull so much amperage that 30 minute burn times are about all you can expect but some have power cords for running of the cigarrette lighter in the truck etc. Anyways, you can see these lights at places like Home Depot sometimes, Attwoods, Harbor Freight, Northern Tool etc. These lights are bright enough to damage your eyes /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif so you definity do not look into them at close range. Some have an area light that uses a smaller bulb so it can burn for hours. The big one can light up a tree line at over 200 hundred yards and the one from Home Depot with the red trim ring is a sleeper--it punches out there with a very strong beam as well. So there you have it, if you ever saw these things in a store and wondered if they worked--they actually do. A couple of mine are nearly 3 years old as well and still going strong. JFYI. J
