Coming up on the 50 hour service, was planning on swapping all ~12 gal of hydraulic fluid however every place I can find it is charging near the cost of fluid(~$150) just to ship!

Nearest dealer is about an hour away, it's a total pain to burn two hours on a weekday but I'm having a hard time paying nearly the same cost in shipping as for the fluid.

Unfortunately hydraulic fluid is heavy and shipping cost is usually volume X weight.
I thought 50 hour service was engine oil, engine oil filter and one hydraulic filter.....

Yeah, I just forgot to figure that in, guessed $50 tops.

50hr is supposed to just be filters but I've heard when you swap the HST filter it's tricky to do it where all the fluid doesn't just spill out.

I figured I'd just swap it anyway so I'm not stuck if I end up dumping all the fluid.

You don't need to replace the fluid at 50 hours, so save yourself some trouble/cost. This isn't even one of those situations where it's kind of beneficial -- the fluid can go several hundred hours before it needs replacing.

It's not that hard -- first, plug the breather so that the fluid will have a real hard time running out. Then, park the tractor sideways on a slope, or block one side, so that the filter is "uphill". I've done this on several tractors and never lost more than a cup or so of fluid. I normally order a couple quarts of SUDT2 to have just in case, and have always just used one bottle to top things off and replace the fluid that was in the filters.

And have a proper sized cork ready to plug the drain hole when you remove the screen and clean it. I am assuming your set up is the same as my little BX.

My 50 hour is coming up soon. My dealer is about an hour and a half away. I will get my filters there, and the wife and I make a day of it. Hit Costco, have lunch somewhere, look at implements etc. I just recently did my 200 hr for my RTV. Bought my filters and sudt2 from the same dealer. Expensive but definitely saved on having it shipped.

You may be able to save a few bucks by considering NAPA synthetic fluid. Local brand down here is Coastal.
I bought 10 gallons for about 95 bucks a bucket. Needed 2 gallons to top off and they did not retail that size. Drove to Kubota dealer and got an a 2 gallon jug of UDT to top off.

Very satisfied with the NAPA synthetic Hyd. fluid. Once engine starts up and the gauges settle down the FEL responds smoothly without the former initial jitters.

Anyways just food for thought for the next time.
Shipping is one reason I quit ordering Amsoil, except for the differential gear lubes.

Tape a shop vac to the fill port opening. I spilled less than a teaspoon when the filter was off for over 5 minutes.
