First... GO GIANTS... hey, I'm from New York...

Saw some $$$ figures in the paper today:

30 second TV AD- $2.3 million

Referees - $12,000 each for today's game

Starting Referees - $1500 per game

20 Year Refs - $4000 per game

Question of the day:
What kind of compact tractor did they use to mow the artificial turf?

Did I mention GO GIANTS! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I rather enjoyed last night, (being an unbiased Baltimore native /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif). There was a picture (last Monday, I think) on one of the news feeds, showing the Giants offense pictured with a Kubota (they were blocking the markings, so I couldn't identify the model). Article never said what the Kubota was there for. Then it hit me… the Giants were thinking about suiting it up as a running back…. And just maybe, it would have a chance against the Ravens defense /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

Next year, my fantasy bowl. Ravens verse Redskins. Living within 40 miles of both home stadiums, and supporting both teams, I will be schizophrenic… and loving it.

To me it's what's wrong with athletics today. It's all about the money. Not alot of people playing for the game but for their next contract. I'll watch it on tv but I refuse to go to games anymore. I mean 10 or 15 million dollars a year to play football? And then look at baseball, Alex Rodriguez's 250 million to play. Nobody is worth that kind of money. Granted they aren't all making that. Really not alot better than Cheney getting 25 million as retirement for a few years of work. Then we complain about paying school teachers 20-30k a year. Did feel bad for Collins though. After his great comeback I was hoping that he'd have a good game. Hope he has enough fortitude to come through that game and have some more good seasons.

"Then we complain about paying school teachers 20-30k a year." I wish! in the school district where we live the gym teachers are making 80K and complain that it is not enough. It is so out of wack it is unbeliveable! I have a daughter who is gifted and has an IQ of over 150, They would pull her out of class only for one hour a week and have no teachers that know how to teach the gifted. The had someone come in part-time who was not even a teacher, she quit due to low pay. If my daughter was mentally retarded she would have 3 teachers. The next leaders of this country have to do it on their own. Of the millions of $'s that are paid in school taxes over 85% goes to salary and less than 2% makes it to the kids for books and supplies. The teachers cry that we need more money for supplies and still want their 5% yearly payraise. NY and the FEDS spend $15K per stundent per year, yet the private schools seem to give a better education for about half the cost. I hope G.W. Bush does something to straighten out this mess. The whole thing should go private and use the vouchers to the school of your choice. Can you tell I'm just getting ready to pay my taxes!

Wow, 80k a year!! Around here they sure don't make that much. My girls are in private school because of the exact things that you just mentioned. They go to a catholic school. We aren't catholic and so it costs us more money but even then it's only 3k a year. The classes are small and the girls get the one on one attention if they need it. So why can I send my daughters to a private school for 3k a year and it costs 15k a year to send them to a public school? You talk about schoolbooks. In Iowa for public school you have to pay for your textbooks now and you have to pay if your kids are going to ride bus. If they play sports or use the gym you have to pay a facitlities use charge. That's one of the other reasons I said enough and took them out of public school.

What do some of you NFL fans think of that "Eyevision" Here to stay or just a passing gimick?

Ernie,

It's definitely gimmicky but I like it. Those views convinced me that one Ravens dive into the endzone was a touchdown when it didn't look like one from the usual angles.
