Anyone here have any experience with the new tl250 Supertrak?
I did sit in a new 250 recently down in Punta Gorda, they are alot more roomier than the ASV's.
Took a little tour with Chuck around their shop and was impressed with the way they "build" the Cats and Taks.
In Panama City I test drove a supertrak tl150 with 600 hrs and it seemed ok,but I'm kinda new with the CTL's with mulcher heads.
At $100,000+ they must be somewhat better than the PT's.
Still looking for the best setup, dealer support is another issue.
150 miles away!

Is the TL250 a new model? I checked out the website and could not find any info on the 250 other than the mini-ex. Educate me!

The 250 is a new model according to Chuck at Supertrak.
It now replaces the 150.
The new 250 now has a Kubota 98hp engine,the 150 has a Yanmar engine.
As far as anymore details you need to contact them.

Kubota=good

That is all you can say about Kubota.

Kubota may be pretty good in general, but I wasn't thrilled when I had to break my dad's little farm tractor in half to replace a $15 shift fork.

What is the advantage of the supertrak over the straight 150 ( last year) or 250 High flow? The Gehl ctl85 , Mustang mtl320 and Takeuchi all have a 40 GPM option and it doesnt come close to the supertrak price. . Gehl and Mustang have pressurized cab options but the gehl has a roll up door that can stay open when you operate ( not good for mulching but great for everything else)

All I can see with supertrak is you are paying huge ( very huge) for an oil cooler and a $ 200 piece of lexan.

What other upgrades does supertrak do??

As per takeuchi, I bought one a few months ago, built like a tank.and no electronics on board to break down. Everything is overbuilt and simple design. Joysticks are pilot valves , not electronic like the cats. ( note how many 500 hour cats have "hesitation" problems ) I did a ton of research on this stuff and these are clearly the best units out there by any standard.

One disadvantage is that the units are huge and heavy , add a mulcher and you are at 13500 lbs so keep that in mind as you wont haul this around on the back of a F150 but at 13000 lbs of push they will move anything. Add a 96 inch dozer blade and a bucket you can do alot more then just cut up trees. Definately a bonus .."let me munch those trees for you..oh would you like a pond, no problem I will just push that house out of the way"

Undercarriages make everyone else look like play toys and no silly bushings you have to replace every 500 hours like the cat /asv.

The Supertrak tak 150 has been around for 2-3 years. It has 40 gpm @ 3000psi. That is what the new TL250 has NOW. Supertrak goes thru the entire tractor and replaces the radiators, so it has one for the engine, hyd and I think engine oil. They also address the A/C. They just build a complete package that will last several 1000 hours. The TL is the one of the few tractor that doesn't receive a larger engine.

That is the same engine Bobcat uses in their T320 and S330 I haven't had any problems with mine yet but would rather have the Yanmar engine its displacement is larger 4.4L vs 3.8L and the Kubota's are throw away engines not really rebuildable. Just my $ 0.02

The yanmar that Takeuchi uses is pretty much disposable also. we had a valve drop on our Supertrak Tak and whiped out a piston and ate a turbo. Yanmar makes that engine for takeuchi only so everything has to go through Tak. The parts to rebuild the engine would have taken 4-6 months to get here from japan so we had to get a complete engine from the takeuchi distrubutor in Atlanta. This engine was as complete as you could get it and the only way you could get it. Had the muffler, injector pump, starter and even that radiator hoses and fan. It was VERY PRICEY also. Could have gotten a cat or cummins alot cheaper.

as far as the supertrak part of it, well you are paying for the name, but they do alot to the machine to make it hold up under the daily abuse of mulching. the radiator alone is around $3000, its massive. But this machine is a very dependable machine, other then that odd failure we had. It now has around 4500 hrs on it and sports a new denis cimaf mulching head.

Thankyou for the insight!
I'm looking at at a used Supertrak Tak150 tomorrow on paper.
Not sure about the details until then.
Can I ask what you charge mulching with the 150?
Thanks,
Mark
