There has been some posts on what grease to use, but I haven稚 seen a survey. (Let me know if there is). Please post what grease you use for your tractor/FEL/BH. I will periodically publish the results.

I use Lucas Red and Tacky which is a lithium complex NGLI #2 GC-LB

I struggled with this. My feeling is that i'ts better to use almost anything as opposed to using nothing. In the end, often my decision was just what grease is more pleasant to use. A grease that is light colored, like Vaseline, is much nicer to use than a black or metalic grease.

If one was greasing the business end of a tunnel boring machine, grease types might be more critical.

The grease I use is black, sticky and gets on everything. I spend as much time wiping it off as I do actually greasing.

I use Lucas Red and Tacky HD Grease, it is water proof but I sometimes things it doesn't last as long as I would like.

I haven't found anything I like better, it can be a PITA to clean up and IT DOES get everywhere, and the main thing is to use it !

If I am digging for 8 hours, trenching on my property, I will quickly go over the grease fittings, using my DeWalt Battery Operated Grease Gun, the size of this gun makes it easy to do a quick job. If I see the grease moving at the joint I pull off the fitting and move on.

I have always used this Red and Tacky for my Off-Road Truck bearings and squeaky places... in my opinion it works.

I do have a problem finding the HD Version in SoCal, no one wants to ship it in.

I use the red stuff from TSC. I can't see buying grease/oil from a company who has their own racing series, if they can afford that cut the price on some grease/oil to make it more affordable.

Kind of like asking what toothpaste do you use? As long as you brush your teeth regularly, and better still, often, the toothpaste type hardly matters.

I really dont worry about the brand but i do grease regular including the front axel pivot (every used tractor i have bought this seams to never get grease) i need to get a battery grease gun.

Funny, that is the same thing my Dentist told me years back, we were talking about the Cavity Preventing Toothpaste... "I don't care what toothpaste you use, just brush your teeth" !

My Grease Gun is a DeWalt 20 volt, model # ?, it isn't the lightest or the cheapest but it gets the work done. With a Local'n Lube Head it has never failed to get the grease in the joint, a good thing I think. It is quick and easy to use, it has options for a longer hose but so far I have not needed one and it might get in the way.
The Lock'n Lube Head grips well and but sometime a little longer head would help; they make a longer one now but when I purchased it, the longer one did not exist.

I used to be a brand freak, I always used anything that Valvoline had their name on, their Racing Oil was the only one I would use in my motors both Racing and everyday vehicle, but not so ridged now, I like Lucas products, don't care about their racing interests, just how good their product is vs cost, and the fact that it is the ONLY Red Grease I can find locally, and I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Motor Oil and looking at their Greasing Products, Oil Filters... that another subject we should start a Post on !

Funny thing about the Mobil 1... most people say theirs isn't as good as other brands, it was a fade thing, but most new vehicle use a Synthetic Motor Oil and grease.

I changed my Motor Oil to Mobil 1 when I purchased my last Truck, 12 years ago, it is a 2003 Ranger, 4x. I would have swore that the engine sounded better than when I had regular Dino Oil and I thought at the time I could feel better throttle response, just like Mobil advertised... talk about TV Brain Washing. But my little Truck runs great, sounds great, get about 19-20 average MPG, and only has 98K on it, hoping to see 200K on... someday !

Where am I going again, Mobil makes Grease Products, I haven't looked into them yet but going that way, want to locate a good HD Synthetic based grease... hoping for the best.
