my neighbor gave me his old bushhog the other day, when i tried to hook to it, my lift arms on my 3point hitch would not spread apart enough to slip over the pins. so i swapped sides with back wheels witch put them out about a foot wider, it sure gave me a lot of wiggle room at the 3 point hitch, plus has a much more stable feel, and seems to turn better. is there a down side?

No, other than your tires could be outside your mower's width or if bar lugs you need to maintain the proper traction direction. The stability is always welcomed. Your pins should be removable and have the ability to mount on the inside. I have a 5' mower for my 2400 and the pins are on the inside of it.....could just as easily be placed on the outside.

Looking at the picture of the 20 series it looks like they have the two piece wheels which gives you 4 easily usable wheel spacing's.

yes they do have the two piece wheels, i have them at i guess you"d say the third widest spot. i do mostly logging, i built a bandsaw mill, and im cutting out a little 2 story house. 20170906_092534_resized.jpg

I'm considering doing this with mine. Don't know what the outside to outside distance will be on the rears when they're set all the way out. One of my road ditches has a severe pucker side hill on it, and I have to mow part of it climbing out vertically now. Would be nice to be able to do most of it sidehilling (there's still one area that I'll have to climb out vertically no matter what).

Anyone with a 25 series with IND 20's on it do theirs already? Be nice to know the width, and if I can still get it on my trailer after.

i gained about a ft. i had the same concerns about my trailer, so i put two strait edges on outside of tires, i have exactly 78 in. the rails on my trailer are exactly 77 in on the inside, so i guess i wont have to worry about it sliding side ways when im going down the road. ill tell ya , those bolts were tight, my impact wrench wouldnt do nothing, i had to use my 3/4 inch breaker bar with a 30 inch cheater pipe to break them loose. my neighbor has a mahindra 4540 has the same size tires, his came already turned out, but there still under his fenders, his outside width is 80inch.

Another way is to turn one or maybe both of the pins to the inside rather than them sticking "out". Sometimes it is harder on lynch pins, but those are cheap.
