Hey folks, great site here! The archives are fantastic.
Here's my deal. I have a Kubota L3240 tractor. I can buy from a friend an Agric AMS-40 rototiller in good shape for $200. The AMS-40 is gear driven with slip clutch and made heavier than most other Agric tillers, problem is it's only 40".
I'll be tilling about a 1/2-3/4 acre for the garden and using it for weeding the orchard every now and again. I can offset the gear box 8" and shift it on the 3 pt. to cover up the tire and till one direction only but we all know how much that sux.
Positive side is a smokin deal on a beefy little tiller and I won't be hurting the PTO like I might be on a 5' heavy duty tiller.
Negative is the annoyance of a little tiller.
Any opinions from the crowd here would be much preciated.
Thanks
