Sweet Tractors vs. Agrisupply...

Sounds like just another S stirer to me as well. I often pay a little more simply because I LIKE the person who's selling the product. I would much rather buy something from Ken Sweet, who goes out of his way to help a lot of people without gain, than some of the other, more "sterile" venues that may save a few bucks but take out the personal touch that Ken Sweet provides. Coincidence? )</font>

Absolutely not true at all! Agrisupply advertises two 84" finish mowers for $1685 and $1825. I bought my First Choice from Ken Sweet for $1499. Corriher had it for $1710. Plus, I have had excellent service (fast shipping, questions answered, emails answered on a SUNDAY evening!, etc) from Sweet.

I do not have a dog in this fight both are reputable retailers. Logistic wise sometimes the geographic position of a retailer causes them to have a higher front end price but yet the delivered price may be cheaper from the local distributor. Land freight is more expensive that to ship a container around the world. A retailer located close to a major sea port may have the lower front end purchase price but if shipped to the consumer 500 to 1000 in-land it will be more expensive than the local guy purchasing container loads.

Agri-Supply's current price on a Caroni 90" rear discharge finish mower is $1,299.95

Bob, are they a dealer of a distributor(s) or manufacturers direct? This doesn't matter of course, but in this changing world after the internet, I don't think even the good, helpful dealers will be able to continue their business longer because the profit rooms for dealers are getting smaller and smaller as the competition gets harder. I know of many small dealers nowadays importing the goods directly and selling the goods in retail market. These dealers, in my opinion, are enjoying the good profit room. You could not see that (small dealers importing) in poor-communication pre-internet era.

I have not bought anything from Ken Sweet (yet), but I can honestly tell you that he has taken the time to personally answer my email questions. He has offered to also help me out over the phone.

I enjoy reading his opinions (and CCI's) and value both of their contributions to this board.

I would have to guess that, until you fill out your personal info, you are someone who somehow could be affilliated to agrisupply.

I wasn't trying to start anything. It just seems odd to me that both of them carry some of the same equipment lineup, and other dealers don't carry the same equipment (at least the ones I have seen on the net).

I was thinking maybe he buys his stuff from them wholesale, thats all.

As posted earlier the same Italian coordinated purchasing for Agri-Supply and Buy Smart (First Choice). Since I was there at Buy Smart for dollar 1, I know all the parties involved. Sweet is just one of Buy Smart's first customers on my recommendation. Sweet did purchase Morra/Fort products from Agri-Supply and WAC/IMC before the organization of Buy Smart in 1998.
