swing cylinder on woods 7500 bh

Hello I am new here but have been reading a lot of good info on this site so thought I could get some advice fromyou guys. I have a woods groundbreaker backhoe that I think needs the seals replaced in theswing cylinder my problem is I cannot remove the swing cylinder it is the older type single cylinder with the chains. The cylinder rod is attached to the backhoe frame on both ends with bolts I have removed these bolts but the cylinder rod appears to have some kind of bushing or insert that locks the cylinder rod in place and the rod does not have enough play to remove it from the frame. Am I missing something ? or does it just need a lot of force to pry it out from the frame? Also the dipper stick cylinder is weak and drifts could the swing cylinder and dipper stick have some kind of holding valve in common that is not working properly?

Doug,
The cylinder should come out with some force. There are shim washers on the inside that will make a snug fit.
The upper boom and swing cylinders are seperate valves in the stack, I don't think one would affect the other. Do you have a manual for this?

Thanks for the reply Dan I got the cylinder out yesterday when I took the bolts out of the cylinder rod with an impact the rod unscrewed out of the piston and put a lot of pressure against the frame once I screwed the rod back in the piston it came out fine rebuilt it and put it back in works good now. Ill probably have to rebuild the dipperstick cylinder next.
