Hi all,
Having reached an age when time left is a lot less than time spent I have bitten the bullet and bought some machinery to help with the work around the garden. I have always, well almost, built, fixed, modified and in some cases made a mess of, those jobs that goes with getting it done the way I wanted, in my timeframe and more often than not, my price range.
So I bought a compact, a Kubota BX2200 fitted with a 60inch mid mower and to add to the mix a McConnel SwingTrim hedge cutter. After spending all of one day knocking out the mowers anti scalp wheel bars which where rusted in solid having never been adjusted since day one and failing to get the drive shaft off the tractor end I began to wonder if the tractor was purchased to ease my work or just create more.
Things did not get any better with the Swing Trim as I have yet to fit the hydraulic connectors onto the tractor hence moving the cutter from its pallet to the garage for safe storage proved another half day of heave ho effort.
I now need info on what to fit where and in some cases how, I will be posting these questions in the owners? area soon.
I look forward to sharing my thoughts and views with you all and hopefully get myself up to speed on all things of a tractor nature that will make my life easier.
David
