I have a T-180 Bob Cat with about 650 hours. For the last few weeks it would start, run anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and then shut down.

I cleaned everything. Battery forward. Cleaned all connections. At first I thought it was the fuel selenoid, but then changed my mind.

Yesterday I pulled the deluxe controller inside cab that allows key less start. I cleaned it and now feel this is my problem as I can now start the machine but the stop button will not stop it. I disconnect the plug and I can stop the machine which must acctuate the fuel shut off selenoid.

Tomorrow I will be force to buy the new controller: $974.00 OUCHHH!

Any comments appreciated?

Only other option is to go with a key panel, will loose the password protection and all the display options but is about 1/2 price. If you go with a key panel, Bes ure to go through the Downgrade process on the Deluxe Panel before disconnecting it or the the key won't work. The controller would still looking for a password.

What style controls do you got? And has it been throwing any codes randomly?

With only 650 hours I hate to delete the DEXLUXE PANEL. I sprayed electronic cleaner all over the panel last night. Now I am using wife's hair dryer to dry out. I also got it wet washing the dust off the back.

I tried for an hour to take the six little screws out and separate. I got the screws out but could not separate. I even had a paper clip in each spring release, but could not separate. I gave up before it broke.

Any more suggestions appreciated. I am just hoping that the controller panel is my problem.

After I reinserted the panel last night it worked fine ! EXCEPT, the stop button would not stop the engine. I disconnected the panel to shut down.

I have the deluxe panel which is really neat. Gives symbols for hyd. pressure, enging oil pressure, engine temp and battery charge. By using upper keys you can switch to real numbers in lieu of symbols, also able to switch to metric.

Only code I can get is "NONE". When I check the codes with the panel removed it says, not communicating. I have the number and that makes sense.

I am about $500.00 away from ATLANTA BOBCAT. By the time you pay the travel charges, etc., it makes it difficult to call for professional help.

I asked if there was a way to test the panel, and BOBCAT told me "NO"!

Thank you both for replies above,

Regrettably there is no way to repair the panel, that I know of, when a button quits working.
Where are you located, there may be another dealer closer to you. More than 1 dealer in GA.

Rich,
FYI, until you get the panel repaired or replaced you do not have to disconnect the panel to shut machine down. There is a manual shutoff lever on the engine injection pump to shut the engine off and controller will shut power off to all circuits after it sees 10 minutes of battery time (panels on) without engine running.

I am in MACON. I bot the machine new from PERIMETER, now just one branch store in Atlanta as I am told.

I did check with a Pittsburgh, PA dealer who was $960. Atlanta is $974.

I did something crazy. I washed all the dust from the back of the panel. Then I got my electric cleaner spray and sprayed the **** out of everything. I shook it, flipped it, and turned it. Seems like I got some water inside. Then I used my wife's hair dryer and dryed it.

HOWEVER, after doing what I did, it starts and I had it running for 1 1/2 hours. I turned the machine off with the red button. The screen is somewhat blurred. I am hoping that clears up.

Also, as I had the machine running in my garage the hydraulic oil must have heated or pressurized, because there was about 2 qts. oil on the floor.

A continuing saga. More tomorrow, as I attempt to dig a ditch.

Got one of those no tumble racks that go in the clothes dryer? If so put in there for 45 - 60 minutes ad see if it will dry it out more.

Those prices quoted seem high. Check with Bobcat of Chattanooga wee what they ask for it, that dealer usually sells pretty close to suggested list.
