T2310 (TC40) fuel gauge reading bad

Ran out of fuel today. The fuel gauge read over 1/4 tank, and it was bone dry. Put in 5 gallons, had to bleed the fuel line to get started again.

Any adjustment to the fuel level sending unit in the tank, or does the whole thing get replaced? Its under warranty, but would like to know what the fix is. Looks like the fuel pump/sending unit is at the top of the tank under a small plastic access plate.

We had the same problem twice with our TC45DA. It seems that when you run the tank low and then work on a sharp incline the sending unit gets stuck. All I did was loosen the sending unit from th top of the tank so it moves freely inside the tank again then retighten it. We try to keep the tank over half full now and haven't had any other problems.

I have used that approach as well as slightly bending the float arm away from the tank.
