OK, I have been doing some thinking on this and would like to ask a question as I think the numbers are pretty good after some thought and close looking.
Lets take a T330 and it specs says 2078lbs hitch lift capacity and 1199lbs at 24" behind the link ends.

Now, looking at the Kubota L3400 and you see 1998lbs at lift point and 1435lbs 24" behind the lift point.

Now, here is my thoughts. I have spoken to sevreal design engineers at some manufacturers of tractors. They say the lift point referred to by manufacturers is the point where the lower 3 point lift arms attach to the upper lift and this is about 12" closer to the tractor than the link end.

So, if TYM's T330 is measured at 24" behind the link end (the cat 1 ball) then it is a superior and more accurate measurement because it is actually measured 3 feet further forward than Kubota measures and thus is more accurate as that is where you implements really are. If the Kubota meausred its spec the same location that TYM did then it would be a much less lift capacity than published compared to TYM.

Does this make sense? Am I wrong in this. I am looking at the wording on both specs and it seems pretty clear to me anyway. What do you all think?

Here's what I think.
I think you're right. I've driven the T330, and I love it. The specs on my Kubota 3pt. probably are less; I use an 800lb. boxblade, which I sometimes weight down with several hundred pounds of concrete block, and it lifts it very strongly. What could you mount on a T330 that it won't lift? IMHO, it's a non-issue. The T330 is a compact powerhouse that handles well and is very smooth to drive. Well worth looking at.

Thanks Familyman. I have seen a couple of posts on this site on the lift specs of the T330 and started thinking and comparing. Not to slight the Kubota as they are good machines. I was more trying to sift through the marketing stuff and truth is that the lift specs of both are fine for their size and adequate for most any implement you would put on.

Thanks,

Maka, I used to help write specs for a tractor MFG. It was our job to make sure that our specs exceeded the competition and never to measure at the same point as anyone else. The thought being that the majority of customers will just run down the list of each MFG and look for the biggest #. And it works like a charm.
I asked for the T330 3 point lift spec back in 2003. West coast rep Dale Owens said 1100 lbs, sales rep Jim Clark said it was 800 lbs and owner Robert Mullet said 1600lbs. Since that is the same rear end that is used on the Iseki TA series tractors and Massy 1200 series tractors I used their specs when talking with customers. We did pick an apple bin on 3 point pallet forks that weighed in at 1018lbs. It lifted it fine. One pound more than that and you would have done wheelies even with the loader on. :) It also felt like doing that would do long term damage if you weren’t really careful.

In real world operating conditions, my T330 HST does just fine. I'm not sure what a 5 ft. finish mower weighs, but the T330 hardly even knows it's there when it lift it and lower it.
