I have a T6000 Iseki. One of the previous owners has installed a pair of very large batteries, and the original retaining system is not present. Indeed, the current batteries can move around and the positive terminals can short out on the chassis.

Does anyone have a specification for the original batteries ?

How are your batteries retained ? Does anyone have a photo ?

It looks like there was a metal panel that had some bolts holding it on over the "access hole" for the batteries. The batteries are situated either side of the transmission tunnel, level with (and behind) the drivers feet. Each battery is a 12 volt unit, round terminal posts.

Thanks, John.

I measured the batteries in the tractor (without removing them, a mistake). The batteries in it were 300mm long, 200mm high (plus terminals extra on that) and 170mm wide. I bought generic "truck & car" batteries (standard 12v heavy car batteries, round posts) that were 270mm long.

After removing the old batteries I discovered a pile of dirt (such that they would have fitted nicely) jambed up behind them. As they had never been properly secured it was easy for the dirt to collect there and to push them forward. The original battery terminals were probably the lead "bolt through" style, rather than round posts, but it works.

My old batteries are still pretty good (I am now using them in my backhoe), so I think simply cleaning the terminals would have been enough to get things reliably working.

The replacement batteries I used are "Exide" brand, model N50ZZ.

The old batteries are "century" brand, model is unknown (stickers long gone ?)

I still have to cobble up a battery retainign bracket.
