TAFE , A True Massey ?

I am looking at a TAFE 25 DI purchase. Is this the same thing as Massey ?( Quality wise ) I realize it is made in INDIA, but their website states they are owned by Massey and have a dba as TAFE in India.
I am new to tractors and am learning.This will be my 1st purchase. Just looking for some help....

No it is not a true Massey. They are not owned by Massey either. Agco, Massey's parent company contracted them to build Masseys for the India Market. The larger frame tractors look like the old 200 series Massey, but with different engines. The compacts are totally different tractors. Don't expect to get any support from a Massey dealer either. John Deere contracts with Kukje(Branson) to build tractors for the Asian market, same deal. They use an old production line to build them. Kukje uses the 0ld JD 5000 series, Tafe uses the old MF 200 series.

Thats correct...its not a true Massey. Some of the filters are the same and it look like a Massey...but again don't expect any support from a Massey dealer, some Massey dealers I have talked to don't even know what a Tafe is!
