Tail wheel does not swivel well....?

FWIW, my 5' KK rotary cutter, purchased last year from TSC, has the spindle perpendicular to the ground, and the caster (angle) is built into the wheel fork. It has grease fittings on the spindle and wheel, and it has a large washer on both the top and bottom of the spindle.

Thanks for all the replies. I took the thing apart; did some sanding and added new grease. Then I drove around in drunken circles in the back field. It tracks better, but I have two observations. General loving use has caused the geometry to be a little bent to start with; and my check chains are too long - looking for a new set that I can more easily adjust. These two factors have been part of the problem. The other issue that is somewhat related is the high placement of the lift pins - for my tractor they really need to be 2 inches lower. So i guess I will try to get someone with a 1/2" drive to drill me some new holes.

Thanks again for the help. The hog is a crude device but it sure does the job /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I used a bi-metal hole saw, and it worked with my 3/8" drill. Just take you time and use plenty of oil.
