tailpipe extension doesn't fit new muffler

i got a new muffler for my 1710 tractor. the tailpipe extension from the old muffler doesn't fit, its too small to slide over the tailpipe coming out of the muffler. suggestions?

A local muffler shop with a bender might be able to expand the end of the pipe for you.

I think the muffler and tailpipe is one piece on my 1710.

a shop will probably expand it for you for nothing.

Your local autostore should have all kinds of connectors and couplers and adapters you can use. If the tailpipe and muffler out is the same size, just measure the outside diameter and buy the inside diameter coupler and couple muffler clamps.
