I have a Kama TS254C, and the steering cylinder is leaking on both ends. ( It uses a double ended cylinder, the rod comes out of both ends ). There are threaded end caps. I removed the end caps, and there is an inner cap, that I assume has an o-ring to seal the rod.
I can't figure out how to remove this inner end cap. I tried to push it out by pushing on the rod from the other side, I tried to push it in to see if it is hiding a snap ring, I do not see any wire on the outside that could be holding it in. I also removed the banjo bolt where the line attaches to see if that was somehow holding it in, and looked in to the port to see if there was any kind of retainer accessible through the port.
I took apart both ends, and they are identical.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how this thing comes apart?

Thanks,
Stan

It's likely that the cup seals are hung up on the threads. They are pretty tough. Push the rod back in a little and slather the the thread area with stiff grease, like fibrous wheel bearing grease, and pull hard. Of course the easy way would be to just take it to a hydraulic shop.
