Was just wondering is it a pain to get the loader off and on? I dont have concrete to set it on,and do i have to have the bucket or can i use my hay forks? 2011 kubota m5040

I don't know about the hay forks as I always use a bucket, but it comes off just like on the BX and L, no problem at all. It is much easier on a solid flat surface if you have not done it before, but I have used boards and sheets of plywood/particle board etc. to shim it up so it is essentially level.

I have taken it off on dirt and gravel, but it may take a little "manipulation" to get it back on which comes with practice.

The older 1980's loaders are a pain in the a-- to remove. But the newer loaders come off very easy. If you don't have concrete, the next best place is dense gravel or hard ground. It is much much easier to remount if it was taken off level. Every time I rototill I remove the loader, and can usually do that faster than mounting the rototiller.

I was just wondering about the hay fork cause I didnt wonna tie my bucket up cause I mite need to use it with the 7040. I just did know exactly how to take it off, everyone I seen with it off has the bucket on it.

As long as the two loader arms stay pretty level, I don't see a problem with having your hay forks on. Just block the two arms. I've taken mine off a couple of times with the pallet forks on, but they support the loader on both sides.

I think you'll need the weight of the bucket on the front or the loader will not be balanced correctly after taking it off. If the forks are about the same weight then you should be fine. I think you'll have to try it with the forks, it could be easier or maybe harder.

The hay forks are alot lighter, maybe I should put a bale of hay on it.Whats the worst could happen it fall over and take my hood out.
