Hey There!

This is my second post today! Let me ask if anyone has come up with the thought of covering the backhoe on their tractor for the winter months? Just curious since the only cover available seems to be for the tractor and loader?

Let me know if anyone has found a cover or has a thought?

Thanks,
rogerbuggle

I am not a believer in covering up anything with tarps, etc. That just gives rodents a good place to den up and eat on the rubber covering hydraulic and electrical components. Better to just let it set outside in the elements if you cant afford a sunshade. Sun damage is all the will hurt it and that just fades things a bit and maybe hard on plastics also but rodent damage can cost you a small fortune to fix (and finding the spot might be hard to do on wiring also). If you cant build a proper barn, shop etc then invest in one of those portable carport type sheds to park it under. They can be had for $500-700 and can be enclosed on 2 sides with ease and 3 sides with some additional sheet metal or tarp. Much better than putting the tractor under a tarp that will hold moisture and trap it to cause corrosion on the equipment.

I throw a tarp over the seat area of the tractor before each storm. Makes cleaning it off easier. And I hate having a cold wet seat when moving snow.

I normally store mine inside, but have let it sit outside at times for a little while due to the logistics of having to move stuff around inside when doing a bunch of switching between implements. I wanted to keep it covered while sitting outside, and would just put a tarp over and try to secure it decent.

Then one day I was in a Fleet Farm store and happened to see a snow blower cover for walk behind type blowers. It seemed to me it would be about right, so I brought one home. It turned out it does work pretty good when the hoe stabilizers are left lowered. It never sits out for more than a couple days at a time, so I don't know how well it would hold up longer term.

I'm not sure if this would work for you. The BX24 backhoe is not all that big...

I store mine inside too. Makes putting it back on easier.
