I recently moved off my 100acre farm in TN and moved to an 8 acre rental property in Maine with 3 clear but taken up by house, horse barn, paddock. About 1 acre remains open. I am actively looking at farms to purchase here. Right now I have a 3320 Power reverser with a loader that i bought primarily for managing pallets and manure. I was going to mow the larger areas with it with the flail mower but it is clear that it weighs too much. The water table is high and I had my Kioti CK27HST here and it was sinking too much to use. Technically I still own it but it's not going to be mine..

The short term need is mowing 1ac. and clearing 150ft driveway/ parking area. In the winter I have to be able to get out and go 24/7 so I can't rely on others, and the amount of time spent will matter to some degree.

In the long term which is probably less than a year off, i will likely have a farm again. I will have orchard and pasture both. Big stuff will be handled by my TN75 when the TN farm sells. I have a Simplicity Broadmore 18/44 lawn tractor in TN and used it some near the house but mostly used the Kioti and a flail. I also used the push mower near the house too. In other words, the lawn tractor wasn't a necessity and I am thinking that what ever farm I get it will probably not be a necessity either. I am trying to keep everything diesel too.

Farm plans will require orchard mowing, manure dump cart moving, snow blowing, pasture dragging etc in addition to hay and field mtc. In TN we had a baby Kubota that did a lot of cart and wagon moving and some limited 3pt stuff ( it's living with the other orange tractor now).

SOooooo, I could get a cheap lawn tractor for now, along with e 60" 3pt snowblower for the 3320, or... perhaps I could get a 2520, turfs, 60"mmm, 60" blower while the sale is still on... m.u.s.t. r.e.s.i.s.t green fever :)

Not interested in the 200cx loader. It can't lift enough. I was always getting the TN75 out when the Kioti couldn't lift enough.

TIA

It sounds to me like you'll need the 2520 at some point in the future. May not get as good of a deal when you need to buy though.

this is what I would do, I am sure stepping down to the 2520 will be a disappointment and you already said you don't want the 200cx loader....I am a firm believer that a tractor without a loader is a bad thing

I usually say that a tractor without a loader isn't worth it, but I am not getting rid of the 3320 and I still own the TN75 which may morph to a green tractor next year. I am looking for other utility functions and in this case it would be a step up from the baby kubota and simplicity. I think the 2520 would be a good orchard tractor and dump cart manager in addition to mowing and blowing.

I think the decision has been made by the marketplace. I went to one of the local Deere dealers today and delivery on 2520's is in July, maybe august. The sales incentive along with the delay of the 1000 series has made it a very popular tractor. You can get a 2720 immediately though. I didn't know it but the 2720 has a bigger final drive and uses the same engine as the 3320.

I did drive a 2720HST and although it needs one more inch of seat travel, I liked it and it turned tightly enough for mowing. The hydro worked better than the Kioti.

The quote I got was: $18470+ tax for 2520, 62D Mower/ indep. lift, 54" QA Blower
Prices included delivery/ setup etc

Not at all. The tractor is not available for 6 weeks and the grass is growing....besides, I wouldn't call that a stellar price. On the other hand, the tractors are selling, so how much do they have to deal....

I have considered getting the tractor with loader and mower and then getting a 3pt 64" snowblower as it could be hung off either tractor. I am still not convinced that I would use the loader on the 2520 much when the 3320 is around. Although I have frequently removed the loaders from my tractors, i wouldn't be keeping it on when the mower is on and it is easier to grab the 3320 vs putting the loader on. It might be useful in the winter with a rear snowblower...
