I am not sure if I am posting my question. Someone may have had a similar problem earlier but I can't figure out how to do a search with this forum.

I just joined this forum and am grateful that so much knowledge is available. I am replacing the dual clutch on my Ford 231 but run into a problem. on the new disk it does not say which side goes to the flywheel. The spindle lug sticks out more on one side that the other, plus I no longer have the original disc. This plate has no springs and it is not the ceramic pads. Does the protruding spindle lug to to the flywheel or to the transmission? Thanks for any help. Woody

Woody,

I can't answer your question, but you will attract more attention to your request for info if your give your thread a title that describes your problem; e.g., "Ford 231 dual clutch replacement." There are several Ford gurus here that are likely to respond if they are aware of your problem. So, if you don't get useful responses in this tread, start another with a descriptive title in either this forum or in New Holland Owning/Operating.

Good luck.

Steve

Thanks so much for your advice. I wasn't sure where to put a subject heading. I was surprised that you saw it so quickly. Thanks again for your help.
