My brush hog is really old and has died and isn't worth repairing. A dealer in my area has a Taylor Pittsburgh Model 366 6 foot brush hog with 5 hours on it for $1500. I never heard of this brand, does anyone have any experience with it? Is $1500 a good price?

Thanks!!!

I have a TP 270 (a 6' cutter) that I bought new in 2000. It has served me well, but I don't have that much to mow.

I believe that TP was purchased by King Kutter several years ago. I don't know whether there is a difference in the TP and King Kutter mowers.

Rural King lists a new 366 for $1900, so $1500 sounds good (Taylor Pittsburgh Taylor Way 6' Lift Cutter 6HP Slip Clutch with Chain Guards 366-CG by Taylor Pittsburgh Mfg for $1,896.97 in Rotary Cutters - 3 Point Mowers - 3 Point Equipment & Accessories - Agriculture : Rural King).

Any idea why the cutter was returned after 5 hours?

Thanks for the info, Steve. I should have said, they claim the brush hog was used as a demo, so it was never actually sold.
