On my TB100. When I push in the clutch petal to change gears or let the tractor idle at it's lowest RPM's.. Then try to let the clutch out after selecting any gear, it appears the gears must still be turning inside as to let the clutch out, if I go slow, you hearing the gears moaning.. else you have to sort of just pop it into gear which I don't see being good for it. Any ideas?

When shifting into gear with pedal down, do you hear or feel any motion or grinding? If not, the trans may not be the problem. Do you hear the groan only while trying to engage the clutch, and it goes away once the pedal is up with the tractor moving? If so, you most likely need a clutch. The TB100 has a cerametalic button clutch, and when the buttons wear down the metal jackets around the buttons start to contact the pressure plate and flywheel. At this point the clutch will growl during the engaging process.

Yes, when the pedal is down and shifting into gear, I hear/feel the motion and grinding. But this only happens after the tractor has been out of gear for a short bit of time. If I'm just switching between gears at idle, I don't feel it. Usually it's when I take it out of gear to hop off the tractor and look at something....upon returning, I'll hear the grinding. Think the trans is going out?

A couple of things come to mind. The pilot bearing can cause this to some degree, but they usually are more pronounced when they fail. Will often growl when the pedal is down completely, and cause the shaft and clutch plate to turn even with clutch released. Usually results in tractor not always stopping when clutch is depressed. Another is a cracked diaphram in clutch pressure plate, causing just enough friction on the clutch plate that it won't always come to a complete stop. Also, you didn't mention whether your trans is a dual power. If so, problems in there can cause this as well.

It is not dual power... It stops when you push in the clutch petal..

You were right on. I had too much play in the clutch pedal.. Once adjusted to specs, I'm not having the problem! Thanks a bunch!
