Im considering a TC-21D with a sixty inch belly mower. The dealer told me that it would take me thirty minutes to loosen five or more bolts to remove the deck. He had never really done it. Is this an accurate estimate and if it is it sure sounds alot more involved than other tractors. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

15-20 minutes to remove, helps to have a floor jack.My friends j.d. takes 5 min. but has complained about a few things on it being flimsy, exactly what I`m not sure.I guess it all depends on how often you need to take it off. I don`t regret my choice. Blu21

I have a NH 1220 with a 60" deck, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes but it cuts real nice.

Though I haven't removed my 60 inch mid-mount mower yet, I have carefully reviewed the process in the owners manual.

My guess is, it's probably more awkward (and physical) than mechanically difficult or time consuming. This appears to be the nature of mid-mount mowers and is one of the well known trade offs.

It appears pretty straight forward to disconnect from the tractor. However, sliding the mower around and out from under the tractor, now that may be a whole different kettle of fish!
