Question for those with a TC29/33/34 with Turf tires. What size and manufacturer are your front tires?
Do you have a loader? If so, how do the turfs hold up to loader work?
The reason that I ask is that a year and a half ago I researched then purchased a second set of front tires to use during loader work in this thread. I ended up purchasing a set of Titian Trac Loader R4 front tires 25x8.50-14 6 ply (2000# rating). The tires worked extremely well doing loader work but are significantly larger than the specifications that Titan listed and are beyond the recommended ratio for 4wd use. Therefore, I have had to change them for loader work then change back to the turfs for mowing duty. This is both time consuming and has finally caused another problem. I have resorted to using an impact wrench to change out tires and have over torqued the wheel bolts one time too many. The result was 4 galled wheel bolts on each side with two breaking off upon removal on each side. The threads on the wheel hubs are now worn and I do not want to chance stripping them.
I am now in a second quest to find a 6 ply turf tire to use permanently in place of my exiting turf tires. The OEM turf tires are Titan Multitrac C/S 24x8.50-14 -4 ply (1230# rating). I am looking at Titan Multitrac C/S 25x8.50-14 6 ply, Goodyear SofTrac TL 25x8.50-14 6 ply and Firestone Turf & Field TL G-2 25x8.50-14 6 ply (all have a 1640# rating). The Firestone more closely matches the specs of the OEM but my tire shop feels that the 25 Titan Multitrac is a much better tire. I do not want to shell out another couple of hundred on the Titans and find that they are too large.
The reason that I am asking what others have is that I noticed that some of the TC 33's at my dealer's lot had 24 and some 25's the last lime I looked (about 2 yrs ago). I asked the dealer and since they were new off the truck they said they had not checked them and may not have the correct tires on. Seemed strange at the time but I did not pursue it.
