I have done a search and found nothing that applies.

When I park my tractor ( TC-29D ) and it sits for a few days , I look underneath and see 3 spots of hydraulic oil on the floor under the tractor - maybe a teaspoon each - one spot just behind the engine, and 2 spots under the transmission - but no leaks there. So I am thinking it could be leaking up front - like under the power steering fluid tank where I see some build up at the bottom and then running back and just dropping down in those 3 spots.

I do my own servicing but beyond that I tend to go above my pay grade...any ideas on where to look or what it might be ?

Thanks in advance.

I know that yours is the next size bigger than my 24DA but I had a mysterious oil leak (hydro fluid) that turned out to be the seal on the main input shaft for the transmission/hydro pump. I'm certain that the cause was the bolts holding the two sections of tractor together were coming loose (engine to transmission/axle housing). Its a wonder the tractor did'nt split apart on its own. I initially noticed oil dripping from what looked like a small cotter pin in a drain hole in the bottom of the clutch/flywheel housing.

As you said though, oil leaks can originate anywhere and show up somewhere else. You might try using some dye and a black-light (UV) and see if it shows up. Of course you would want to to one section of oil at a time (engine oil first, then if nothing after some operation time try adding to hydro oil, etc.). I bought the dye and a LED flashlight with a UV light included at NAPA for pretty cheap.

I now have a new leak coming from the front axle where the two sections are bolted together in the center of the axle. If I open the fill/dipstick plug after its been in operation for a while a fair amount of pressure comes out and then the leak subsides. Why NH did not put a vent in the front axle is beyond me? I guess that will be my next project.

Good luck, hope you don't have to go through what I did!

Remove the shroud under steering wheel ( two piece cover) and check your steering hydraulic valve. Bet you that is where your leak is.
