New Holland TC 30
TC30 with hydrostatic grinds when putting it in gear. Is there any kind of adjustment for this.

Hard to tell from out here, but my first thought would be you might have a stuck clutch disc. That is provided the pedal travel, free play, and pressure plate spring tension all seem to be where they were back when it worked correctly.

Clutch adjustment is the first thing that comes to mind for me. You should feel about an inch of free play before you feel the resistance of the clutch working. If you have too much free play the clutch may not be disengaging the transmission from the engine. That's the cheapest easiest fix. Harry's suggestion of a stuck clutch is the next thing to check. Sometimes the fix for that is simple and sometimes you need to split the tractor.

I don't even use the clutch when I shift mine. It sounds like your pedal is not going to neutral with your foot off the pedal. When your tractor is in gear does it creep forward with your foot off the pedal?

Is your tractor a hydrostatic drive or manual gear shift?

With my TC45 hydrostatic drive, I have to be completely stopped to shift ranges.

Tractor is a hydrostatic drive makes noise when you are stopped and trying to put it into one of the speed ranges.

Sure sounds like something is trying to make it go forward or backwards while you are shifting ranges.

Can you provide any more information?

How long have you owned this tractor

How many hours on it?

Was there any recent servicing performed?

Were you in thick brush with it recently?

As a first step I'd be looking at the linkages that come off your forward/reverse peddle controls to see if something is binding/bent/out of adjustment.

Do you have rocker peddle or individual forward/reverse peddles?
