Newbie here. Just getting used to my 2000 tc 33d hydro which I bought used as a replacement for my '52 8n. The machine is flawless except for one very annoying problem. The three point lever barely moves and takes two arms to drop my finish mower like a ton of bricks. I know this cannot be right. I have checked all linkage for binding, lubed up every pivot and still nothing but stuck. I have since tried backing off the nut that appears to be a friction nut connecting the linkage at the chassis. Pulled off wheel, pulled cotter pin but cannot budge the nut, tried heat etc. Is this nut by chance reverse threaded? I am afraid of damaging internal linkage or gears by torquing too hard trying to loosen this nut. This is the only thing I miss about the 8n, super smooth 3 point. What to do?

I have a TC35D that has a knob dirrectly under the drivers seat called a flow control valve for your Hydralic Power Lift. Check to make sure this valve is open before lowering the lift arms. This knob basicly controls the speed in which your 3 point implements raise and lower.

Nope, not reverse threaded.

My TC29D did that also. Follow the linkage all the way to where it goes into the tractor. Right there you can take a cotter key out and loosen the bolt up one or two turns and put the cotter key back in. That should loosen it up a bunch. Others had to do this also. It is kind of tough to do as you are working behind the wheel. Some said they took the wheel off but I was able to mine without taking the wheel out.

The flow control vavle has nothing to do with this, you are talking about the 3 point lever itself moves very hard right? If so it is the nut that is too tight.

Tried loosening that nut. It will not move. Will I damage internals if I use a breaker bar?

Did you remove the cotter key?

Yeah, cotter pin out first thing and tried with wheel on, then wheel off. The nut is frozen on, for some reason. Like I said, tried heat and lubes on it. Anybody advise against a breaker bar with socket?

I guess my recomendation would be to take it to a dealer. Yes you could wreck something inside with a breaker bar
